What's
New at ACE
Component
Engineering has released a new lower cost reverse-scan
kit for most soundheads. The
ASR-40 replaces exciter lamp, slit lens, solar cell, and exciter
lamp power supply with 2 solid state assemblies (shown left),
and a new power supply. The kit cost is $499, and will take
about one hour for our technician to install. Once converted
to reverse scan, you'll have little need to have ACE out for
frequent "A-chain" tune ups, nor anymore exciter
lamp replacements! Plus, in your digital house, the analog
sound will sound almost as good, during a dropout of digital,
or no digital print (disks). Consider the conversion as an
investment in quality sound, with the peace of mind of
knowing you won't be down someday with a surprise cyan print.
On
Screen Advertising with Digital Projectors, is taking
hold rapidly due to the dramatically lower cost for the equipment.
Many theatres are installing digital projectors to take advantage
of addition income from rentals,
private parties, on screen advertising, and pay-per-view sporting
events. Two currently popular models include the Eiki XNB3,
a 2000ANSI lumen SVGA projector priced at $1895, and the X1100,
at 4100 ANSI lumen XGA projector priced at $4795. Long throw
lenses are available for the X1100 projector, enabling projection
from your booth. Any DVD player, VCR, cable box, satellite
dish receiver, camcorder, or computer will hook up.
You'll
be amazed at the quality from these projectors. For video
advertising only, lower cost SVGA projectors fit the bill,
and they come with longer throw zoom lenses. With video ads,
there's no more out of focus or upside down slides, bulb changes
become a once or twice a year issue, there will be no more
constant projector breakdowns, and your entire program is
mailed to you on one CD-ROM! Let ACE design a multi-projector
network, that will run automated along with your theatre automation
system
In
addition our technicians have attended factory training at
Christie Digital and BARCO. Price on D-Cinema
equipment has dropped dramatically, with new lower cost machines
for medium to small theatres, along with the new 2k BARCO
high-end machines for large auditoriums. The new 2k projectors
are twice as sharp as 1k machines, making the quality similar
or better than current 35mm presentations, and the cost has
been cut in half. Let us show you how to make the jump to
Digital.
Dolby
Laboratories
has replaced the CP500 with a new feature laden processor,
the CP650.
Available in 3 versions (SR analog, SRD digital, and SRD-EX
surround) brings Dolby Digital more affordable than ever.
Coupled with QSC's new 4-channel amps, we can now provide
a bi-amped 6-channel digital sound system in less than 36"
of rack space! Dolby continues to offer their stand alone
SRD decoder, the DA20, for theatres who already have a good
analog cinema processor. However, for all new installations,
you will find the CP650 to be the most cost effective solution
for Dolby Digital.
